Masada Day Trip Transportation

Masada is Israel's most-visited ancient site outside Jerusalem, and getting the timing right matters more here than almost anywhere else - most visitors want to be on the mountain before the desert heat sets in.

It's about 100 km from the airport, roughly 90 minutes via Route 1 and Route 90 along the Dead Sea. If you're doing the classic sunrise visit, that means a pickup somewhere around 3-4am - we run that timing regularly and it's not an unusual request for us.

Most people either hike the Snake Path before sunrise or take the cable car up later in the morning; either way, we can wait on-site or arrange a set pickup time afterward if you're continuing to Ein Gedi or the Dead Sea the same day, which many visitors do since they're all on the same road.

Bring water and a hat regardless of the season - the site has almost no shade, and by mid-morning in summer it's one of the hottest spots in the country.
