Ben Gurion to Haifa is a longer, mostly-highway run north - about 95 km along the coast, and one of the routes where booking ahead genuinely matters more than a same-day request.
The drive runs up Route 2, the coastal highway, past Netanya, Hadera and Caesarea before climbing into Haifa itself. It's usually 90 minutes to just under two hours depending on where in the city you're headed and traffic around the Haifa Bay industrial area.
Haifa's own geography is unusual for Israel - the city is built up the slope of the Carmel, so 'downtown' could mean the port area at sea level or a hotel up on the Carmel ridge with a view over the bay. Tell us which and the driver routes accordingly; it's not a trip you want to navigate cold in an unfamiliar rental car.
We also run the reverse direction for cruise passengers disembarking at Haifa Port who need to reach the airport for a flight home - see our dedicated Haifa Port transfer page if that's your situation.
